TO CELEBRATE its 10th birthday, a Berkshire restaurant business raised thousands of pounds for a neighbouring primary school.
Coppa Club, which opened its first restaurant at the Great House in Sonning in 2015, marked its anniversary with a community ‘CoppaFest’ celebration.
The event, which took place in August at the Great House, included live music and street food, with all ticket proceeds collected in aid of Sonning CE Primary School.
With hundreds of locals attending the riverside festival, Coppa Club was able to raise a total of £5,300 for the primary school.
This has now been presented to Headteacher of Sonning CE Primary School, Phil Sherwood, by Coppa Club CEO, Mark Loughborough.
“Coppa Club was founded at The Great House a decade ago, and the Sonning community has supported us ever since,” said Mark Loughborough.
“CoppaFest was our way of giving something back, and it was a privilege to support Mr Sherwood and his team in the incredible work they do at Sonning CE Primary School.
“We’re proud to have raised £5,300 and know it will be put to great use for the children.”
The funds will support new initiatives at the Sonning school to improve educational and personal development opportunities for pupils.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Coppa Club and everyone who came to CoppaFest,” said Phil Sherwood.
“The £5,300 raised will make a real difference to our pupils this year, helping us fund priority projects and enrichment activities that bring learning to life.
“Having the support of a community partner such as Coppa Club helps us bring our community closer together.”
Coppa Club offers spaces for anyone to enjoy at any time of day, and now has 13 sites across the South of England.
