A COMMUNITY-LED organisation that provides free meals and activities during the school holidays for families is looking for new volunteers.
The Grub Club supports families eligible for benefits-related free school meals, or who are on very low incomes.
It helps out during school holidays by providing food, friendship and a wide range of activities for all ages, including opportunities that might not otherwise be available to children, such as climbing, ice skating and archery.
Based in the Norreys neighbourhood, the Grub Club usually meets at St Crispin’s School on Tuesdays throughout the summer holidays.
It also runs an event at Easter and holds a Christmas party at the end of the school term.
The group is currently looking for volunteers to assist with the holiday club and events.
Roles will include helping with the setting up and closing down of sessions, supporting craft activities and games, and assisting in the kitchen.
The Grub Club is also seeking new committee members, preferably from the Norreys area, although they will welcome anyone keen to support the community..
Anyone interested in getting involved can email: thegrubclubwokingham@gmail.com
