Local Cub Scouts have put their DIY skills into practice with the help of a national infrastructure group that’s working across Wokingham borough.
The Scouts received a generous donation of recycled timber and pre-cut bird box kits from Balfour Beatty which allowed them to create 10 bird boxes as part of their DIY badge.

And two of the bird boxes are due to be installed at the group’s Scout hut, helping them to achieve their naturalist activity badge too.
The remaining boxes will be situated at the Lower Earley Way dual carriageway scheme – a £124 million highway project led by Balfour Beatty for Wokingham Borough Council – to help support the Scouts’ commitment to the environment.
