
A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a hit and run road accident in Wokingham.
The incident took place around 2am on Saturday, August 25.

A man in his 40s was cycling along the road when he was hit by a driver, who failed to stop.
Police closed Reading Road at its junction between Oxford Road and the Woosehill Spine Road until just after 9am this morning to allow them to carry out an investigation.
The back wheel of the cyclist’s bike was buckled in the incident.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Thames Valley Police officers were called at about 2.10am today by the ambulance service following reports of a collision involving a vehicle and bicycle in Reading Road, Wokingham.
“Officers attended the scene where the cyclist, a man aged in his forties had sustained serious injuries.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.
“The vehicle did not stop at the scene of the incident.
“A road closure was been put in place while emergency services remained at the scene.
“Anyone with any information relating to this incident is asked to call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
