A developer will apologise to residents for incorrectly felling trees on land they live on.
The Hill Group has been cutting down trees for its Beaufort Park development, which will provide 226 homes.
But it has taken ‘full responsibility’ for incorrectly felling trees on the next-door land owned by Taylor Wimpey, known as the Evergreens.
The Hill Group said a ‘limited number’ of nine trees had been felled outside the ownership of Beaufort Park.
Bracknell’s MP Peter Swallow along with Cllr Guy Gillbe asked for a full apology and review from The Hill Group.
The developer has now confirmed it will send a letter of apology to residents of the Evergreens.
An onsite ecologist has also confirmed that no nests were losts by the felled trees.
The Hill Group and Taylor Wimpey are drawing up a plan to reinstate the trees.
A spokesperson from the Hill Group has said: “We are extremely disappointed that our appointed specialist subcontractor incorrectly felled a limited number of trees (nine in total) outside of our ownership at Beaufort Park, despite the boundary and trees in question being clearly demarcated.”
“We take full responsibility for this mistake and are committed to replacing these trees so there will be no lasting impact.”
The spokesperson confirmed all other trees were felled in accordance with approved plans.
Taylor Wimpey has told residents more trees must be felled on their land for safety reasons. A boundary will also be created to ‘clearly identify’ the border between the two sites.
