HUNDREDS of fun-runners donned their Santa suits on Saturday morning to take a festive jog around a Winnersh country park.
Dinton Pastures became the setting for the second annual Dinton Santa Dash, organised by Barnes Fitness, last weekend to not only spread some Christmas joy, but to raise some money for charity as well.
Around 400 people took part in the 5km or the 2km dash, with runners as young as 13-months-old taking part.
More than £1,600 was raised by participants for local disabled children’s charity, Building for the Future.
Organiser Ellie Barnes said: “It was great to see so many Santas dashing around Dinton Pastures Country Park in the bright, fresh winter sunshine – lots running their first-ever fun run, some as young as 13 months and some as old as 80-years-old. It really is a fun festive event for all the family. We even had a visit from Santa on his sleigh too.
“We’re looking forward to seeing even more Santas take part next year and are very grateful to Castle Royle for leading the warm-up which was much needed, and Waitrose in Wokingham and Woodley for donating the mince pies for the runners after they had finished.”
