A GROUP of parishioners from All Saints, Wokingham visited neighbouring town centre churches on Sunday, accompanied by a friendly donkey.
Following a communion service at All Saints Church, the procession made its way through the town.
The Revd Hannah Higgins, Rector of All Saints, and Taffy the donkey, led the group towards Wokingham Methodist Church, stopping on the way to visit Wokingham Baptist Church and Wokingham Salvation Army, where Taffy was welcomed with cuddles and smiles.
Hannah said: “Taffy was a superstar, and a real hit with everyone.
“Like all of Kelly’s Donkeys on Palm Sunday walks, he got lots of attention.
“It was lovely to join with other churches, including members of Corpus Christi.
“And afterwards around 30 churchgoers and members of the public enjoyed lunch together at All Saints.
“It was a great start to what is a very special week.”
The event remembered Jesus’ humble entry to Jerusalem when, prior to crucifixion, He rode on a donkey and was welcomed by cheering crowds spreading palm branches on the ground.
