MUSIC has a unique way of bringing us together, and that’s the certainly the case with the first new track in our playlist this week.

Dream For The Future is one track from an album created in tribute to guitarist Eric Bouillette, who passsed away last year.

It’s moving and also a fine way to remember a talented musician.

As ever, we’re on a mission to champion and showcase great music from acts that have a connection to Reading and Wokingham (that’s the RaW in our Sounds Today name).

It’s a mixture that will help you discover something new. All you have to do is find it on Spotify.

To hear this week’s selection, simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstoday and enjoy the music.

BDD – Dream for the Future

At Wokingham Festival last year The Room performed a wonderfully moving set in tribute to their guitarist, Eric Bouillette, who had sadly passed away a week earlier.

Now Eric’s partner, Anne Claire, has curated a wonderful album, Songs for an Angel Vol 1 – Music for Eric Bouillette featuring songs written and recorded by artists especially for the album.

It shows the depth of feeling everyone had for Eric and this song by BDD, the alter ego of The Room bassist Andy Rowe, is a wonderful example – https://www.ftf-music.com/de/tributetoericbouillette/tributetoericbouillette.htm

Mark Harrison – Tribulation Time

Mark is a unique singer-songwriter, an excellent guitarist and a wonderful storyteller and he will be bringing his distinctive style to Wokingham Music Club on March 10.

Mark will be appearing with his band of quality musicians so if you like roots music at its best don’t miss that one. This song is the opening track on his The Road to Liberty double album – https://www.markharrisonrootsmusic.com/

Small Town Heroes – Only 18

Here’s a new single from this young Berkshire-based band and it’s a very good piece of melodic uplifting indie pop. It was recorded in Generation Studio and features guest guitar from Jake Slack. The band performed at Wokingham Festival last year and hopefully, we will see more of their exciting energetic music at live shows where we can sing along to infectious songs like this one – https://bio.site/smalltownheroes

Dakorra – All Eyes to the Floor

Based in the Reading area, Dakorra (aka Kate Herridge), has established herself as a talented and dynamic performer and this features a catchy melody, driving rhythm, and emotive lyrics – https://www.facebook.com/dakorraband

Dennis Siggery & Neil Sadler – I Paid the Price

A classic blues voice and a brilliant guitarist come together on a new album, ‘Testify’ with quality production from Neil at his Wokingham-based No Machine Studios – https://www.ericstreetband.com/

Eloise Kate & Matthew Little – Just One Night

This beautiful mellow song features emotive lyrics, a captivating melody and a soulful vocal performance from this duo. https://www.instagram.com/eloisekatemusic/

One Last Day – As Time Stands Still

Here’s a great live rock band with their latest single. We popped along to see their exciting headlining performance in a packed Acoustic Couch in Bracknell a few weeks ago – https://linktr.ee/onelastday

This band have just released their new EP, ‘Damned If I Do’ which features this great song – https://www.marisaandthemoths.com/
