A TWYFORD charity that supports people with dementia and their families is holding an event in Charvil next month.
Understanding Dementia’s fundraising quiz night will offer head-scratching fun as teams battle it out to be top quizzers.
There will also be a raffle and auction, a pay bar, and snacks available to buy.
Lucy White, the charity’s marketing, fundraising and training officer, said: “We are so happy to be holding a quiz again – we know it will be huge fun for all and we have some great raffle prizes and auction items on offer too.
“Anyone who’s interested should get a team together, get their thinking caps on and buy their tickets now.”
Understanding Dementia was established in 2018 with the aim of bridging the gap between awareness of dementia, and a real understanding of how it affects the person.
The charity runs free training courses for dementia family carers, paid-for courses for health and care professionals, and training for volunteers.
Due to Increased demand for its dementia carer courses, the charity has been recruiting and teaching a new trainer.
It now needs to raise more funds to continue to reach as many carers as possible with free training, support and advice.
With another set of courses to begin in January, anyone interested is invited to contact the group to apply online.
Understanding Dementia thanks event sponsor Sonning Gardens Care Home, and round sponsors Twyford Team Company, RG10 Magazine, Rainbow Care, Home Instead, Therapies on Thames, and all who have donated raffle prizes and items for auction.
The event will take place at Charvil Village Hall (The Hawthorns, off Park Lane, Charvil), on Saturday, November 8, at 8pm.
Tickets cost £10 per person, with tables of six to eight players.
Quizzing groups can book a whole table or can join other small groups at a table on the night.
The deadline for booking is Saturday, November 1.
