GARDENERS, crafters and bakers of all ages will be exhibiting their produce at a borough festival this month.
The Wokingham Horticultural Association (WHA) is holding its Winter Show, and welcomes entrants for all its show classes, as well as visitors on the day.
Janet Gordon from WHA said: “This is a lovely festive show, and among this year’s categories is something Santa would love.
“A new class for people to enter this year is ‘Santa’s Tipple’, 250 ml of home made fruit liqueur.
“Our domestic classes are Christmassy too, and include mincemeat, cranberry and rosemary wreath making, and toffee apples.”
The crafts section will also be offering lots of festive creations to enjoy, including table and door decorations.
As well as the judging of produce, domestic and crafts, there will be a plant stall, a raffle, photography, home-made cakes, and refreshments.
“We’d love people to enter any of our classes – you don’t have to be a master chef or grower – and there are plenty of fun options to try,” Janet said.
“Just have a look on our website, it’s very user friendly.”
As well as gardening together the group enjoys social visits, and warmly welcomes new members.
WHA has two festive trips coming up; one to Kew Gardens to see the Christmas lights, and another to Bath to see the city’s Christmas market.
Their Winter Show takes place at St Paul’s Parish Rooms, Wokingham, on Saturday, November 16.
Doors are open from 2pm until 4.30pm, and all are welcome.
Tickets on the door cost £2 for adults, and are free for children.
