Oakbank secondary school has been spreading Christmas cheer this month with a host of festive activities.
The Ryeish Green school kicked off December with a Christmas music and drama showcase, along with Oakbank School’s PTA christmas market on December 7, which provided a perfect opportunity for parents, carers and students to pick up some gifts.
A Christmas Disco on December 12 then stepped the festivities up a notch.
The school also had ‘Faith at Christmas’ as one of their themes for the week, with representatives from Shinfield Community Church coming in to deliver a Christmas message.
Shinfield is a dynamic church made up of people from all walks of life and from different nations. Students went on to explore other faith celebrations in their personal development sessions.
The school also decorated a tree, kindly donated by the Henry Street Garden Centre, for the Christmas tree festival at St Mary’s Church in Shinfield.
Steve Jump, headteacher at Oakbank Secondary School said: “Staff and students have been working so hard this term, so it’s been great to have a bit of fun and get into the swing of Christmas by holding some lovely festive activities.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to make the Christmas market such a success and to Henry Street Garden Centre for donating the tree.
“The students had a wonderful time decorating it.”
