Plans have been submitted that, if approved, will see a new fitness studio come to Finchampstead.
The application is for unit 13, 35 Ivanhoe Road at the Hogwood Industrial Estate.
Notes to the application said: “The applicant has been a personal trainer for over 11 years, and the proposal will provide the applicant with a permanent, fit-for-purpose base, replacing the current use of temporary or ad-hoc venues, and ensuring long-term business viability.
“Opening hours are proposed as 0500 until 2100 Monday to Saturday and 0700 until 1400hrs on Sundays.
A typical day would comprise a blend of individual PT sessions and classes capped at eight participants each, overseen by a qualified personal trainer (with scope to recruit additional trainers as membership grows). Such numbers are modest relative to the size of the unit and the wider estate, ensuring activity levels remain compatible with neighbouring operations.”
The application site is located in a trading estate, and consists of a two-storey unit in a row of other similar sized units with varying uses.
Several notes in support of the application have already been received.
One said: “With new build developments increasing, there is a shortage of accessibly, positively driven places to exercise, and also expert knowledge in bespoke programs.”
Another said: “This is a fantastic addition to the Arborfield community.
“For me and my wife this will provide us great access to a gym that is local and accessible throughout the week.
“I strongly support this and hope it gets approved.”
A consultation on the application remains open until January 4, 2026.
