FINCHAMPSTEAD Royals U13’s capped off a stunning season as they triumphed with victory in the Bucks & Berks County Cup having already won the Surrey Primary League Premier Elite League.
Finch stormed to the league title and remarkably only lost one league game all season, winning 17 of their games and scoring 64 goals in the process of being crowned league champions. Zack Wright top scored for the team, but Finch showed their true team spirit throughout the campaign with goals being contributed by every player.
They then had further success to celebrate as they added another trophy to their cabinet by defeating Didcot 4-0 in the final of the Bucks and Berks County Cup which was played at the ground of Flackwell Heath FC.
Tylar Clayton, Finn Hodge, Harvey Goode and Harry Smith were all on the scoresheet in the final as Finch celebrated their cup success with a brilliant team performance. The team performed consistently and clinically throughout the cup competition as they scored an astonishing 28 goals in six matches, and they also boasted their defensive stability having only conceded three goals as they were crowned as worthy winners of the competition.
The team has received a huge amount of support from the sidelines from manager Jonathan Smith, coaches Laurance Kingsbury, Richie Whittingham and Paralympic athlete Molly Kingsbury.

“It’s a stunning achievement for this group of young players,” said manager Jonathan Smith.
“Champions of Surrey Premier Elite League with only one defeat all season and a 4-0 victory over Didcot Town securing the team the Berks & Bucks County Cup. The last time a Finchampstead FC team won the County Cup was the year this group of players was born.”
Coach Laurance Kingsbury said: “The boys have put in so much effort this season, it is nice that they were rewarded with this success. The boys are a pleasure to coach and work with. They are a gifted bunch with no lack of drive or enthusiasm. They are also a good group of friends who socialise outside of football.”
