EMERGENCY services are responding following a fire at the former site of Broadmoor in Crowthorne.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service posted to social media shortly before midday today, Saturday, May 25, to say that it was responding to a fire.
The incident is taking place in a derelict building on the site of the former Broadmoor Hospital, where a fire is thought to have broken out from within the walls at around 11am.
Residents are asked to stay away from the area where possible, and those nearby are encouraged to keep windows and doors closed.
The current site of Broadmoor Hospital is not affected.
The post by RBFRS reads: “We are attending a fire at a derelict building on the old Broadmoor Hospital site. The current hospital site is not affected.
“Please stay clear of the area but if you are nearby, please keep windows and doors closed.
“More information to follow.”
