Football in Berkshire announce nominees shortlist for 2022 awards night

The shortlist for the Football in Berkshire awards nominees has been released.

Plenty of worthy nominees from across the county have been selected across several different categories which include: Best Ground, Support of the Season, Volunteer of the Season, Best Individual Photo or Media, Goal of the Season, Best Website or Blog, Best Content Creator, Best Community Campaign or Content, Outstanding Contribution to Local Football, Manager of the Season, Referee of the Season, Young player of the season (male and female) and Player of the season (male and female).

Wokingham & Emmbrook have received nominations, including Anne-Louise Doe on the shortlist for Volunteer of the season, the Lowther Lip for Best Website or Blog, and Roy Merryweather for Outstanding Contribution to Local Football.

Eversley & California are represented among the shortlist as Sarah Pyne is up for Volunteer of the Season, while Richard Milam is nominated for Best Individual Photo or Media.

Reading City boss Simon Johnson is among the four names shortlisted for Manager of the Season, while Berks County manager Ellis Woods has been nominated for Outstanding Contribution to Local Football.

The Goal of the Season award includes Reading City’s Jenyo Balogun and Woodley United’s Ben Anderson.

Meanwhile, Chloe Streak (Binfield FC), Caversham United and Ryan Sheehan (Reading City) have all been shortlisted for Best Content Creator.

Young Player of the Season nominees include Caitlin Levy (Caversham United), Emma Harries (Reading FC Women) for the female award while Joe Pilling (Reading City) and Daniel Harris (Wokingham & Emmbrook) are nominated for the male award.

Photographer Neil Graham has been nominated for Best Individual Photo or Media, while photographer Andrew Batt is up for Outstanding Contribution to Local Football.

The football community in Berkshire will come together to celebrate the awards night which will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at Double-Barrelled Brewery.

The evening, which is sponsored by Eddie Stobart, will be presented by Sky Sports’ Tom White as recipients will receive awards in a night that will commemorate the fantastic work in the football community in Berkshire.
