Eversley & California have secured promotion to Step Five football following a single-goal victory over Westside in the Combined Counties League Division One play-off final. On target for the Boars was captain Joe Pantony with a 34th minute strike directly from a corner.
Finchampstead went down by a single goal in their final Thames Valley Premier league match against Maidenhead Town. That result meant they finished the season in fourth place, some 22 points adrift of champions Westwood Wanderers.
Westwood are set to face Wargrave in the Berkshire Trophy Centre league cup final at the Select Car Leasing stadium on May 16, kick-off is at 7pm.
In the Bracknell Sunday League, AFC Winkfield collected silverware with a penalty win over Berks United in the Supplementary Cup Final. The league is set to host its cup finals day on Sunday (May 11) at Binfield FC, with the junior cup final (Harts of Bracknell Stags v Finchampstead OYF) kicking-off at 11am and the Senior Cup Final (Bracknell Royals v Bracknell Rangers) starting at 3pm. Entrance is free with attendees being asked to donate to charity. Bracknell Royals were crowned Premier Division champions with a 2-3 midweek win over SF7.
Burghfield remain top of the Premier Division of the Reading Sunday League, with only third-placed BAPCO, with games in hand, capable of overhauling the Fielders. The league will not conclude until the end of the month.
Elsewhere, newly-formed Bracknell Cavaliers Ladies warmed up for their debut season in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League with friendlies – one of which ended in a comfortable win over Sandhurst Warriors.
