Former Reading FC loanee Cesare Casadei has moved back to Italy as Serie A club Torino completed a £12.5million purchase from Chelsea.
Casadei, who was bought by Chelsea for around £15million plus add ons, spent the second half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan with Reading in the Championship.
Casadei showed flashes of quality and great potential during his short stay in Berkshire and played 15 times in the Championship for the Royals under manager Paul Ince.
The Italian midfielder scored one goal which came in a defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
The season ultimately ended in disappointment as Ince was sacked with five games to go and Reading were eventually relegated from the Championship.
Casadei was again loaned out by Chelsea last season and played 22 Championship games for Leicester City as they were promoted back to the Premier League.
With the west London club continuing to splash the cash on several arrivals, Casadei fell further down the pecking order and saw his opportunities limited despite making 11 Premier League appearances in the second-half of the 2023/24 campaign.
He played a total of six games this season, five of which in the Europa Conference League for the Blues before he sealed his switch to Torino.
Torino are currently in 11th position in Serie A.
