FORTY years after they hung up their schoolbags, former pupils of a Wokingham school are being invited to catch up.
Friends Amanda Chivers and Karen Breakspear, both former pupils of The Emmbrook School, are organising a reunion next month for the Class of ’83. The event will also be open to students who left in 1984 and 1985.
For many, it will mark the first time in four decades they have last seen each other.

Ms Chivers said: “A reunion was held in 1996 which was attended by more than 100 pupils and teachers and there have been a number of smaller gatherings over the years but as we are all getting older, we thought it was the right time to have another, hopefully bigger and better than the first.”
The school in Emmbrook Road first opened in 1965, and became part of the multi-academy Circle Trust in 2021. Earlier this year, permission was granted to build a new sixth-form block and administration centre.
The reunion will take place on Saturday October 7, and is for former pupils and their partners. Tickets cost £25.
