READING FC made it two consecutive draws under interim boss Noel Hunt by collecting a point against promotion pushing Luton Town.
On the back of their goalless draw with leaders Burnley, the Royals put another point on the board on Wednesday night.
Reading had gone in front when Andy Carroll found the net just five minutes into the second-half with a powerful header.
The game then took a big twist when it appeared that Carroll had struck gold again, only to be penalised for handling the ball into the net.
The goal was disallowed and Carroll subsequently received his second yellow card, meaning that Reading had to play the majority of the second-half with just 10 players.
Needing to show plenty of resolve and desire to keep Luton out, Naby Sarr and Tom Holmes kept the back line organised to frustrate the Hatters.
Having kept their first clean sheet in 20 matches against Burnley at the weekend, it seemed as if Reading were on course to keep another.
However, their defensive resilience was eventually broken down 10 minutes from time when Joe Lumley parried a shot into the air and lost flight of the ball which left Luton’s top scorer Carlton Morris the easiest of finishes to head in on the goalline to level the game.
With 10 minutes left on the clock and six minutes of added time, Luton went in search of a winner.
However, Reading ensured that they wouldn’t be beaten and held out for a 1-1 draw.

The result means that the Royals remain in the relegation places in 22nd with three games left to play.
Relegation rivals Cardiff City picked up three points with a 3-1 away win at Watford which puts them two points ahead of Reading.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield Town earned a draw with Sunderland to put them one point ahead, while QPR drew at home to Norwich which means they are also one point in front.
Reading’s next test comes on Saturday away at Coventry City who have their sights set on qualifying for the play-offs.

The Sky Blues are currently two places and just one point outside of the top six after they earned a dramatic equaliser away at Blackburn Rovers when goalkeeper Ben Wilson scored an extraordinary equaliser deep into stoppage time.
QPR face a tough away trip to Burnley who will be looking to seal the Championship title at the weekend, while Huddersfield away at Cardiff.
