On Tuesday, March 26, the Friends of Woodford Park met in Woodley for their bi-monthly ‘open’ meeting.
Anyone who enjoys visiting the park can attend as it’s an ideal opportunity for the public to hear updates about the park from the group and the local council.
An enjoyable evening was spent discussing the plans that the Friends have for the much-loved flower beds and hopefully residents will soon be enjoying even more beautiful summer flowers.
A working group meets in the park every Tuesday morning to tend to the beds and residents are always welcome to stop and chat.
The Friends will be having a plant stand at the Woodley Carnival in June and so are looking forward to chatting to lots of local residents there too.
The council talked about their ongoing plans for the park.
It was an opportunity for members to hear about the lake regeneration project and it was great to hear
that repairs to the paths are imminent.
The council and Rotary Club of Loddon Vale are working together to create a rose garden and the group were told that a working group has been set up to commemorate the centenary of the Memorial Park.
