THIS YEAR marks three decades of Daisy’s Dream.
The Lower Earley bereavement charity supports children and their families through the loss of a loved one.
To celebrate its 30th birthday, the charity is inviting bakers to hold cake sales up and down the borough, and to share their culinary successes online.
“We’re calling on schools, businesses, community groups and families to host their own Daisy’s Dream Birthday Bake-Offs to help us raise £30,000 by June 2026,” said Jade from Daisy’s Dream.
“It could be a workplace bake-off, a school cake sale, a coffee morning, a customer appreciation day, or a simple bring-and-buy bake table.
“Every cupcake, brownie and slice sold will help to change a child’s life.
“This isn’t just a bake sale – it’s Daisy’s 30th birthday.
“We’d love everyone to fill social media with cakes, kindness, and community as they celebrate this milestone with us.”
Daisy’s Dream provides free, professional support to children and families who are facing, or have experienced, the death of someone they love.
Each year it supports around 500 people and young people to move forward in a positive way.
Bake sales to support the charity can be hosted anywhere, and at any time before the end of June 2026.
All funds raised will help the charity reach its £30,000 anniversary target, allowing it to continue supporting children and young people.
Bakers can set up their own fundraising page via Daisy’s Dream’s JustGiving page, and can download the charity’s 30th Anniversary logo to advertise their events on posters and social media.
They are encouraged to share photos of their bakes and bake-off events on social media, tagging the charity using the hashtag #DaisysBirthdayBakeOff.
