Winnersh Triangle-based Bexprt has become the first Cloud and AI Services company to be honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise.
In a ceremony at Wokingham town hall on Monday, His Majesty’s representative, the Lord Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire, Mr Andrew Try, presented the commemorative award and the Grant of Appointment to Bexprt’s CEO and founder, Mohamed Hamdy.
The event was attended by Cllr Rob Comber, the mayor of Wokingham, local councillors, business colleagues, friends, family and some of the Bexprt HQ team.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, recognising and celebrating business excellence across the UK.
On the recommendation of the UK Prime Minister, and approved by His Majesty The King, they are awarded to businesses which have demonstrated outstanding success in fields of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.
During the presentation ceremony, addressing Mohamed, the Lord Lieutenant said, “You are a credit to the country and the county of Berkshire and prove that innovation and particularly international trade are all things that, with focus and creativity, Britain can be extremely successful at.
“You are a role model to others, and on behalf of His Majesty I congratulate you on winning this award.”
Mohamed Hamdy, founder & CEO of Bexprt, said: “Bexprt is the first company to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise (in any category) for supporting customers in their digital transformation journey to the cloud, and the delivery of cloud and AI services to their customers.
Richard Lee, Bexprt non-exec advisory board member and former founder and CEO of Creativity Software, said: “This Wokingham based-business is delivering phenomenal projects across Europe, Africa and particularly the Middle East – and is one to watch.”
Founded in 2018, Bexprt is an independent, privately owned company with a wholly-owned subsidiary and regional office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The business delivers cloud services to clients across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America, and employs over 30 technology experts globally.
Cllr Comber told Wokingham Today: “Recognition of any kind, for any company, wherever it is, is fantastic, and this shows how companies can establish themselves in the Wokingham area and grow to be a considerable success in a relatively short time.
Cllr Prue Bray, who represents the Winnersh Trainagle area, added: ”We are in the right place, close to the airport, close to Reading, and with good rail links.
“This company has set up here, and they’ve done a fantastic job.
“They’re now selling around the world after just six years of operations.
“It really does show that what we’re doing okay in this part of the country.”
