Marauding knights will be taking to the streets of Wokingham this week.
In what has become an annual tradition, Yateley Morris Men will be performing a traditional ‘Mummers’ play, based on texts from North Hampshire plays, in town centre pubs in Wokingham on Thursday, December 19, and again on Boxing Day at The Queen’s Oak in Finchampstead.
The play is a traditional Christmas custom that dates back to the middle ages, where good triumphs over evil.
The activities will start at the Hope nd Anchor at 7.30pm, before moving to the Queen’s Head (8.15pm), the Crispin (9pm) and the Ship (10pm).
Boxing Day’s performance will start at 12noon.
