Wokingham Borough’s libraries have become the first group of libraries in the country to sign up for a scheme that gives families confidence about breastfeeding.
Wokingham Borough Council has continued its partnership with the Breastfeeding Network to establish its libraries as breastfeeding friendly venues.
Breastfeeding is good for mums and their babies, but women can feel nervous about breastfeeding in public and this can mean they choose not to breastfeed, or they stop before they want to.
Having already worked with the Breastfeeding Network to get accreditation for its leisure centres, it said it was delighted that its libraries will provide a safe and supportive space to breastfeed.
For free and confidential support with breastfeeding, come along to one of the Wokingham borough drop-in sessions.
