Wokingham borough council has said it is taking action after lots of residents wrote to explain their concerns about speeding on part of Reading Road in Woodley.
In a statement, it said: “We’ve agreed to repaint the white lines at the junctions with Howth Drive and Wroxham Road, and install new warning signs on the approach.
“We’ll also be painting white road markings that warn people to slow down, and we’ll put up equipment to gather up-to-date speed data.”
It added that recent data for the area doesn’t show any cause for concern, but that it is very happy to look into it further and put people’s minds at rest.
The works will be carried out later this summer, alongside others that are scheduled to take place in this part of the borough.
