MONEY, hub caps, and an arm chair are among the rubbish found
During a weekend of litter picking groups of people all over the borough picked up grabbers and bin bags, and started to clear away discarded rubbish.
Collectors in Earley, including two teams from McDonalds, filled 78 bags.
In Finchampstead members of Finchampstead Baptist Church (FBC) cancelled their morning service, and families instead took to the roads around the FBC Centre, to rid the area of discarded waste.
Dominique Edmonds from FBC, said: “We want to be good news to the people around us, so as a church we love taking part in the annual litter pick.
“This year we collected 103 bags of rubbish, and a large easy chair, which was found by our lead pastor, Chris Simpkins’s son, in the woods.”
Other interesting finds were a coffee cup with £23 in it, a brand new art folder, and hub caps.
“It was the Scouts who found the money in the coffee cup,” said Dominique.
“And there were a number of nappies collected, too.”
The Earley Litter Pick was organized by Earley Town Council with the Earley Adopt a Street Initiative and Earley Environmental Group.
The Finchampstead litter pick was arranged by Finchampstead Parish Council, with support from FBC.
