Louise Timlin has been elected as the new mayor of Wokingham town council.
She succeeds councillor Robert Comber, while the new deputy mayor for 2025/25 is councillor Alwyn Jones.
Louise said: “Following a very fulfilling year of being deputy mayor, I am truly honoured to be elected to represent Wokingham and the town council as mayor.
“I will do my utmost to perform this role with dedication, passion and humility.
“Wokingham is a town where you are equally likely to meet people whose families go back generations, and those, like me, who have chosen to make it home. It is diverse, vibrant, friendly, welcoming and supportive.
“Each mayor chooses a charity to support during their mayoral year. I have chosen CLASP, a self-advocacy group for people with learning disabilities here in Wokingham.
“This is a truly innovative organisation which is run by its members and this year, is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a charity.
“I am very much looking forward to getting to know more about the people, organisations and businesses which all come together to make this one of the best places to live and work in the UK;”
