AN INTERACTIVE games session at Wokingham Library will help people to better understand climate change.
Hosted by Climate Fresk, two games will give people an opportunity to explore the science and the issues in a fun and engaging way.
A Climate Game will explore the science of climate change, while a Nature Game will focus on biodiversity and ecosystem links.
Beginners and experts can all play, with no prior knowledge needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn something new.
“In a world where environmental information can be confusing, these award-winning games offer a refreshing opportunity to discover the science for yourself,” said game hosts Elizabeth Corse and Rosie Deane.
“Through collaborative play, you’ll uncover how and why our environment is changing, and what it means for our community.”
The games have already engaged more than two million people across 50 countries, from complete beginners to environmental experts.
Through them, people will be able to meet like-minded Wokingham residents, and to learn and play within a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere.
In just three hours, say the organisers, players will understand complex topics better and gain confidence in discussing them.
Founded in December 2018, Climate Fresk is a French non-profit organisation that aims to raise public awareness about climate change.
The event is part of a wide range of events held during Reading Climate Festival, which runs from Saturday, June 7 and Saturday, June 21.
The games session will take place at Wokingham Library, on Saturday, June 14, from 12.45pm until 3.45pm.
For the complete experience, players are asked to plan to stay for the full three hours.
