Austen House care home in Lower Earley was filled with flowers, cards and sweets in celebration of St Valentine’s Day.
Staff and residents celebrated the day of love enjoying a live music performance that took place at the home.
Local singer, Gary, performed a selection of love songs including Love Is In The Air, All You Need Is Love, Love Me Tender and residents joined in with the singing, dancing and clapping.
Residents and their loved ones enjoyed a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, organised by tye home’s hospitality and life enrichment team.
General manager Simona Cioinac, said: “We’ve had a lovely day decorating the home and making gifts for each other, and for our loved ones.
“Lots of our residents were able to see their loved ones either in person or via video call.
“We’ve had a whole range of treats and Valentine’s themed fun, and we have enjoyed every moment of it.”
Stela, a resident at Austen House said: “It has been a lovely day.
“It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get involved with the day’s festivities.
“I had a very special and wonderful time with my husband.”
