A man has been charged after a child was seriously injured in a crash on Rushey Way in Earley.
Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, Matthew Haylett, 33, of Reading, was charged on Monday, March 2 with a string of motoring offences.
The charges include causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop for police, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, failing to report an accident and driving without insurance.
The charges relate to a collision in Rushey Way on 26 February in which a child was injured. The child remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Mr Haylett was remanded into custody on 3 March and is due to appear at Reading Crown Court for sentencing on a date yet to be confirmed.
Police have not released further details about the child’s condition.
