More than 80% of pupils and parents in Wokingham Borough have received an offer for their first choice of secondary school in September.
The 80.21% figure this year is an increase compared with the 77.14% from 2023, and 76.26% from a year earlier.
Cllr Prue Bray, Wokingham Borough Council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “We are delighted to announce that 97% of pupils received an offer of one of their preferred schools, with 80% receiving their first choice.
“We’re lucky to have a range of excellent secondary schools in the borough who are gearing up to welcome nearly 2,500 new students in September for the next stage of their education.
