The MP for Wokingham was outside Waitrose in the town centre on Sunday morning, helping to collect for this year’s Wokingham poppy appeal.
In a message for the many volunteers who are helping to collect across the borough, Clive Jones told Wokingham Today: “The first thing I want to say is,thank you very much for giving up your time for doing this, so that we can remember all of the people who have lost their lives for our country.
“Thank you too to the Royal British Legion. They do a most fantastic job.
“All of the poppy sellers, thank you very much.
“I know a lot of them have been doing it for many, many years.so it is a big commitment.”
Wokingham poppy appeal organiser David Dunham echoed Jones’ thanks.
He added: “I’d also like to thank everyone who is helping with this year’s campaign, and to everyone who is donating.”
