WOKINGHAM Positive Difference’s (WPD) February breakfast meeting will look at how businesses can be more sustainable and socially responsible.
WPD, a monthly gathering of local businesses, charities and local government, will hear from commercial waste management company, Grundon.
Grundon’s ‘s social value co-ordinator Harry Crockett, will explore how recycling, sustainability, and social value can be approached in a practical and realistic way.
His talk, Sustainability and Social Values, will look at the rising environmental expectations placed on businesses, and the increased regulatory pressure, and growing scrutiny around social responsibility they face.
Sustainability and social value are now central to how organisations are viewed by customers, employees, partners, and communities, he will say.
And while some organisations focus on meeting minimum requirements, others are beginning to embed sustainability and social value, but may find it difficult to make this meaningful or measurable.
Grundon has been leading the way in waste management and environmental solutions for nearly a century, working with organisations of all sizes to rethink how waste is managed and how environmental impact is reduced.
Harry will offer fresh a perspective, and practical insight to help organisations step back, challenge current thinking, and consider where they might do things more effectively.
The event will take place at Wokingham Town Hall, on Friday, February 20, at 8am until 9.45am.
Tickets cost £25 (including breakfast).
Booking is essential.
