NEARLY 1,000 people, including families, children and dogs, welcomed the New Year by taking part in a popular charity walk held at Wellington College, Crowthorne, on New Year’s Day.
The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Bracknell & Sandhurst, in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Wokingham and Easthampstead.
Participants enjoyed a scenic walk through the historic grounds of Wellington College, creating a positive and friendly atmosphere despite the winter weather.
The walk once again proved popular with families from Crowthorne, Bracknell, Wokingham and surrounding areas.
A children’s trail along the route helped keep younger walkers entertained, making the event an enjoyable start to the year for people of all ages.

Richard Lindo, President of the Rotary Club of Crowthorne, Bracknell & Sandhurst, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people starting the New Year together in such a positive way.
“The turnout exceeded our expectations and the support for Thames Valley Air Ambulance was truly heart-warming.
“ This event highlights the strength of our local community.
“We are very grateful to everyone who took part, volunteered, or supported the walk.”
Final figures raised are being collated, with funds to be donated to Thames Valley Air Ambulance, to support its vital life-saving work across the region.
The Rotary clubs also thanked Wellington College for generously hosting the event once again.
