A NEW group for women has recently launched in Wokingham.
The NWR (National Women’s Registers) Group offers women aged 55 and over an opportunity to meet for meaningful discussions and to form lasting friendships.
Claire Kendrick, Head of Operations for NWR, said: “We are so excited to bring another NWR group to Wokingham.
“It’s a great way to meet new friends and participate in vibrant, thoughtful discussions.
“It’s all about creating a welcoming, supportive space for women to express themselves and share their views.”
The Wokingham 2 NWR group offers conversation on a range of subjects from current events to personal passions, with opportunities to meet and form friendships with local women, and to join social events including outings and speakers.
The national membership charity runs groups across the UK to combat social isolation by connecting older women within a friendly and supportive setting.
Locally the group meets in pubs and cafes.
Their next event is on Monday, October 14, when they will discuss what museum or art gallery item people would choose to take home and keep for a month.
