A FOOTBALL match played by celebrity teams has raised thousands of pounds for a Wokingham charity.
The Ollie Young Foundation (OYF) supports research to help find a cure and treatment for childhood brain cancer, and recently took part in a successful fundraising event at Hartley Wintney Football Club.
A game of football with celebrity players, organised by Sellebrity Soccer, raised £6215 for OYF.
Charity founder Sarah Simpson, said: “It was a very successful event with people from all over coming to see their favourite celebrities play.
“The teams were kind enough to sign an OYF t-shirt for us so we could use it as one of our raffle prizes on the day amongst other signed memorabilia.
“The celebs were great, very welcoming, and supported the charity well.”
Ollie’s older brother Alfie talked with the players about the foundation, and about his sibling Ollie, before taking to the mic to thank the wider audience.
“We’d like to personally thank Jewson for sponsoring the event and making it possible,” said Sarah, “and Richard Milan from Photo_TBG, and Dan from dannewberryphotography who came along, voluntarily, to take photos for us too.
“It means we now have some magical memories to treasure.”
The winning team was Ollie’s All Stars, with Danny Dyer as captain.
