A youth music organisation that this year celebrates its 77th year, will give children from 28 Wokingham primary schools the opportunity to perform on a professional stage.
Wokingham Area School Music Association (WASMA) returns to Reading with a show that celebrates songs from the silver screen.
The concert, Lights, Camera, Action! will focus on the fun of singing together in a large choir, but will also feature the youngsters performing drama, poetry and dance.
A total of 760 children will star in two productions, an experience that organisers say they are likely to remember for many years to come.
WASMA has grown over the decades.
What began with just a handful of schools in Wokingham town, has evolved into an organisation that can now provide opportunities for primary school children across the whole of Wokingham borough.
The programme is performed twice, giving two groups of youngsters the chance to star.
Both concerts take place at the Hexagon Theatre, at 7pm.
Concert 1 is on Sunday, March 10.
It involves children from Alder Grove, Bearwood, Charvil Piggott, Earley St Peter’s, Farley Hill, Grazeley, Hawthorns, Highwood, Loddon, Nine Mile Ride, Radstock, St Cecilia’s, St Paul’s, and Winnersh primary schools.
Concert 2 can be seen two weeks later, on Sunday, March 24.
Children from Colleton, Emmbrook Junior, Finchampstead, Montague Park, Gorse Ride, Hawkedon, Keep Hatch, Lambs Lane, Oaklands Junior, Polehampton Junior, Robert Piggott Junior, St Dominic Savio, St Nicholas Hurst, and Willow Bank Junior schools will perform.
