Outline plans have been submitted that could see one house demolished and replaced by 18 new homes.
The owners of the property at Hillside, Lower Wokingham Road, plans to make 40% of the new homes “affordable”.
The site is formed of two parcels of land measuring one hectare. It has a 66-metre frontage onto Lower Wokingham Road between Finchampstead and Crowthorne.
Submissions in the application said the site has an extensive planning history, with a number of applications for residential development dismissed after appeal.
The most recent application for residential redevelopment and construction of nine dwellings was in 2015.
The reasons for refusal of the earlier schemes have been carefully considered in preparing this application, the latest application said.
“A mix of dwelling sizes and types has been suggested in this scheme.
“The proposal achieves a net increase of up to 17 dwellings, and accordingly seven dwellings representing 40% are proposed for affordable housing.”
Indicative plans are for six five-bedroom houses, three four-bedroom houses, six three-bedroom houses and three two-bedroom properties.
The consultation is open until May 2, 2024.
