READING FC surrendered a one-goal lead as they lost to two goals in the final 10 minutes in their League One contest with Barnsley.
The Royals went ahead early on through Harvey Knibbs who headed in from close range in the fourth minute.
The Tykes hit back from the penalty spot before half-time and then scored in the 80th minute through Devante Cole before Max Walters’ goal sealed the game.
DAVID BUTTON 5: Guessed the right way for Kane’s penalty but wasn’t able to keep it out. Couldn’t have done much with the winner either.
CLINTON MOLA 5: Filled in at left-back for the injured Jeriel Dorsett and did an adequate job without doing anything eye catching. Replaced by Mbengue for final 15 mins.
NELSON ABBEY 6: Showed superb pace to stop Reading from being exploited on the counter. Didn’t get close enough to close down Cole for the winner.
TYLER BINDON 6: Looked a danger from set pieces and his flick on in the box led to Harvey Knibbs’ opener. Unfortunate handball to give away a penalty.
ANDY YIADOM 7: Very solid performance against his former club, particularly in the first-half to make some vital blocks.
MICHAEL CRAIG 6: Booked early on after his loose touch led him to flying recklessly into a tackle in the middle, but stay disciplined and put in a battling display.
LEWIS WING 6: Kept play ticking through the middle. Always calm and composed and a constant outlet to try and make things happen in the final third.
FEMI AZEEZ 6: Looks visibly more confident following his two recent goals. Put in some decent crosses but decision making can be better.
HARVEY KNIBBS 6: Perfectly timed run to latch onto Bindon’s flick on to nod past the keeper. Nine goals in all competitions this season
PAUL MUKAIRU 5: A quiet performance from the winger who was unable to create too often. Withdrawn for Vickers on the hour mark.
SAM SMITH 6: Made some promising runs in behind to stretch the Barnsley defence, but wasn’t able to ever trouble the keeper.
