Thames Valley Police have released a statement to clarify rumours of an alleged assault on a female in Bracknell Town Centre.
Police have said that despite reports on social media that they encourage residents that not all information online has been verified.
TVP said: “We are aware of concerns circulating on social media, surrounding an alleged assault on a female in Bracknell Town Centre over the last few days.
“We will always investigate such reports as a priority and are dedicated to putting offenders before the courts but rely on victims to come forward and speak to us.
“If you are a victim of any assault, or know someone who is, please report it to us directly.
“Thames Valley Police is dedicated to tackling violence against women and girls in all its forms, including sex offences and non-contact sex offences.
“We also work closely with our partners in Bracknell to ensure we keep all of our communities safe.
