Police have sealed off three businesses and a home on Reading Road in Winnersh and a man has been taken to hospital with head injuries.
Another man involved in the incident had minor injuries and has been arrested along with a third man.
Police were called to an incident at the home, thought to be above Boston Barbers, Tri Computers and The Beautique nail and beauty salon in the early hours of Friday morning.
Officers have sealed off the forecourt to the shops and part of Roy Wood Transits as part of their investigation.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Thames Valley Police were called to Reading Road, Winnersh, near the Subway restaurant at 6.45am, after two males were found injured.
“One of the males had sustained head injuries and has been taken to hospital.
“The other male had suffered a medical episode and was treated at the scene – he did not need to attend hospital.
“The force is in the early stages of trying to establish what has happened at the scene, however two other males have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area overnight is urged to call the force on 101 and quote reference 162 (19/1).”
