READING FC will open their League One campaign at home to Peterborough on Saturday, August 5.
Reading’s away campaign then begins a week later away at Port Vale in between a Carabao Cup first-round tie.
The Royals will be playing in England’s third tier for the first time since 2001/02 following their relegation from the Championship last season.
The club still has plenty of uncertainty heading into a new era with a first-team manager yet to be appointed after negotiations with Chris Wilder broke down in recent weeks.
The team also currently only have a small number of players under contract with plenty expected to be added before the start of play.
Fans have voiced their concerns at the current ownership of the club and have launched a pressure group ‘Sell Before We Dai’ to urge current owner Mr Dai Yongge to sell the club.
