READING FC fan group ‘Sell Before We Dai’ are planning a sit in protest at the end of the teams match against Peterborough United on Saturday.
The Royals kick off their League One campaign this weekend at home with the club still facing significant financial challenges under owner Dai Yongge.
The fans have shown their displeasure for the way the club has been run under his ownership with the formation of the pressure group to urge him to sell the club.
Reading have been under a transfer embargo for the previous three seasons and have been deducted six points on two separate occasions.
After being out of an embargo for less than two weeks, the club were placed under an embargo once again last week after failing to pay HMRC.
The protest group is asking fans to stay in the stadium following the conclusion of the match against Peterborough and want fans to move to the ‘Coppell’s Corner’ of the ground to show their concern to the club’s owners.
With just a week to go until the start of the season, Reading manager Ruben Selles admitted that the club are ‘not ready’ for the new campaign.
The new Royals boss had hoped for 10 new additions to the team and after a week that saw Reading sign four new players, Selles’ hopes of continuing that trend were scuppered by the new embargo.
