Reading’s slide towards the Championship relegation zone continued with a resounding 3-0 defeat at leaders Wolves.
Royals held out Nuno Espirito Santo’s men until the 40th minute when Matt Doherty profited from some poor goalkeeping and defending.

Former Reading loanee Benik Afobe doubled the tally just before the hour mark and Doherty sealed victory with his second of the night.
The visitors ended the evening with just two shots to their name and none on target as their winless run extends to eight matches following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Leeds.
Reading sit 19th in the Championship, six points clear of the relegation zone ahead of a trip to Norwich City on Saturday, where they lost 7-1 last season.
“We were outplayed and we weren’t good enough,” said Royals boss Jaap Stam.
“We have seen all season that Wolves are a very good side, it’s no surprise to see them top of the league, but we came here looking to get something out of the game.
“Going forward, we couldn’t bring enough.
“You always want to win and I am fed up with losing. The players are fed up with losing too, but we were outplayed by Wolves.”
