Santa met Holly and her sister Ivy at the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre (DBAC).
The annual ‘meet Santa’ event helped to raise much needed funds for the charity, and was well-attended by two- and four-legged visitors.
A spokesperson from DBARC said: “Despite the dreadful weather, we had a very lovely day.
“Lots of dogs got to meet Santa, and were very happy to have their photos taken by Louise from Tell Tails Photography.
“We are very grateful that so many people supported the event and we hope they enjoyed themselves.
“Our team worked very hard on the event, and we are so glad that so many people came along. Thank you so much to everyone involved.”
Holly and Ivy, pictured with Santa, are currently looking for their forever homes. The eight-month old Labrador cross sisters came into the rescue as their previous owner was unable to cope with two dogs.
“Although the dogs get along well, siblings can sometimes fall out as they get older, and they are both young enough to adapt so we will not be seeking to rehome them as a pair.”
Both the dogs are friendly and sociable with people, and whilst they have not lived with children, they are young enough to potentially live happily and safely with dog-savvy children old enough to understand their needs.”
The spokesperson added: “As with any young dog, potential adopters will need to be ready to put in the time and effort training, both at home and at classes, and be able to provide an active lifestyle and company most of the time.”
