CRAFTERS from a local crocheting group are discouraged following the loss of one of their post box topper figurines.
A little airman, one of three crocheted figures, stood on top of the post box outside the Royal Mail Wokingham Delivery Office on Broad Street.
The decoration had been crafted by members of the Barkham Hookers to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
On Tuesday the topper was vandalised, with someone having removed one of the figures.

Gaynor White, who leads the Barkham Hookers, said: “There seem to be such selfish people around.
“Someone has stolen one of the soliders from the post box in town.
“It makes me so sad, after all the hard work.
“These decorations are meant to be enjoyed by everyone.”
Local residents may be wondering why someone would feel the need to take the figure, which will have taken Gaynor or a team member hours to complete.
David Dunham, Royal British Legion poppy appeal organiser for Wokingham, was also saddened by the news.
He said: “I really hope whoever is responsible for this sees sense, and does the right thing.”
He added that anyone who wishes to return the artwork can do so, with no questions asked, to Wokingham town hall.
The Barkham Hookers are well known for decorating the borough with their creative crochet talents, and for raising large amounts of money for the Royal British Legion.
