Doreen: “Friendships and Fun Every Visit”
Doreen has been coming to Wade for a few years now and says it’s always one of the highlights of her week.
“I’ve made some great friends here,” she says with a smile. “We laugh, chat, and enjoy each other’s company—it’s always fun. There’s such a lovely atmosphere. It really lifts your spirits.”
She particularly loves spending time in the garden. “On sunny days, we all sit outside and it’s just beautiful. It’s so peaceful, and you feel like you’re on holiday with friends.”
The kindness of the team stands out. “They are so friendly and caring—always looking out for us and making us feel welcome.”
She adds warmly, “We could not be anywhere better.”

Lizzy: “The Sun Always Shines at Wade”
If there’s one person who captures the spirit of Wade, it’s Lizzy.
“The sun always shines at Wade!” she beams. “Even when it’s grey outside, you come in here and it’s all smiles, warmth, and kindness.”
Lizzy especially enjoys the meals, describing them as “a real treat,” and praises the staff who go above and beyond. “They’re genuinely caring—always attentive, and they make everyone feel valued.”
One of her favourite days was when the zoo animals came to visit the centre. “It was amazing! I love animals, and to see them right here at Wade was such a treat. You could see how much joy it brought everyone.”

Bill: “Music, Memories and a Karaoke Machine”
For Bill, Wade is a place where he can share his passion for music with others.
“I love singing,” he says. “Sometimes I bring in my karaoke machine and get everyone involved. We all have a laugh—it’s brilliant seeing people join in and enjoy the moment.”
Bill also enjoys a good meal. “The food is great—fresh, hot, and different every day. And the company makes it even better.”
He appreciates that he can take things at his own pace. “Some days I’m up for all the activities, other days I just want to relax—and that’s fine. It’s your day, your way.”
