Plans have been submitted for an outdoor sports hub at Finchwood Park, the new community at Hogwood Farm south of Arborfield Green.
This would include a grass sports pitch, a floodlit artificial grass pitch, plus a sports pavilion, allotments, informal kick-about area and a BMX track and playground, on land off Park Lane.
The proposal, by Cala Homes already has outline planning permission as part of a wider application for new housing in this area. The finer details are to be decided through this application.
The developer has also submitted an application for 48 new homes on land immediately north of the sports hub – of which 29 would have four-bedrooms, three would have three-bedrooms and 16 would have two-bedrooms.
Approval would allow the sports facilities to be provided sooner than planned, with Cala Homes bearing the cost. This would allow Wokingham Borough Council to put the developer contributions that we were set to invest in this project towards other infrastructure.
The site will be landscaped with features including wildflower meadow seeding and tree planting.
