The Barns at Wellington, a boutique fitness facility and Padel Club on The Wellington Estate, has announced the success of its recent Charity Padel Tournament, held on Saturday, 28th June, in support of the local horticultural therapy charity, Thrive.
As one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and Europe, Padel tennis has become the latest craze, captivating players of all ages with its fast-paced, social, and accessible gameplay.
The tournament capitalised on this surge in popularity, bringing together over 36 players, along with supporters and members, for a day of friendly competition, fun, and fundraising.
Thanks to the incredible generosity and enthusiasm of all attendees, the tournament raised over £1,000 to support Thrive’s mission of helping people improve their well being through gardening.
A huge congratulations goes to the top-performing pairs of the day:
• Georgia and Arthur
• Gareth and Angus
The Barns at Wellington said: “The atmosphere was electric, and the feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. The Barns at Wellington would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part, donated, or cheered from the sidelines.”
“We’re so proud of the community spirit shown at this event,” said Joy, General Manager of The Barns at Wellington. “It’s inspiring to see how sport can bring people together for such a meaningful cause.”
Plans are already underway for the next tournament, and The Barns at Wellington looks forward to welcoming even more players and supporters in the future.
