A CHARITY that works to prevent loneliness and isolation in older people, is spreading kindness through its Kindness Tree appeal.
For the third year running, The Link Visiting Scheme is helping to fund a programme of events designed to bring joy and companionship to those experiencing loneliness – including a special Christmas Day lunch.
To take part, people can visit one of the charity’s Kindness Trees, choose a tag, and make a difference by purchasing the requested gift.
Each tag bears a QR code for people to donate.
But some may prefer to buy a Link wishlist gift, or perhaps purchase locally to support community businesses.
“We’ve reached 81% of our Christmas Appeal target ,” said Liz McDaniel from The Link.
“We’re so close – but not quite there yet,
We need just a bit more of your help to make sure no older person in Wokingham feels alone this festive season.”
Link Kindness Trees can be found in Wokingham at:
Berkshire Physiotherapy, David Cliff Estate Agents, Fiona Parry Boutique, Nuffield Health & Wellbeing Gym, Places Leisure, Sedero Lounge, and Wokingham Town Council.
They are also at Earley Town Council, Shinfield Parish Council, and Woodley Town Council.
People not able to visit a Kindness Tree but wishing to contribute, can donate at: localgiving.org and The Link Visiting Christmas Wishlist can be found on Amazon, at: bit.ly/48MRJJh
